Reporting cycles let you establish the frequency with which different activities report on different indicators. Reporting periods must be assigned to reporting cycles.
For example, quarterly reporting periods should be assigned to the quarterly reporting cycle and annual reporting periods should be assigned to the annual reporting cycle.
This page will walk through how to create a new reporting period and assign it to a reporting cycle.
First, go to:
Results > Reporting Periods
In our example, all our existing reporting periods are quarterly. We're going to create a new annual reporting period, but you could also click on an existing reporting period to edit the cycle.
To create a new reporting period, click on "New Reporting Period" in blue at the bottom, then give your reporting period a name and click "Create Reporting Period" in green.
Give your reporting period start and end dates as usual (here, the reporting period is one year), and define the submission window (here, the submission period is the month following the reporting period). Then select which reporting cycle the reporting period belongs to. In this case, our annual reporting period belongs to the annual reporting cycle.
Under Administration > Reporting Cycles, you can see the result:
The quarterly cycle has reporting periods for each quarter, and the annual cycle has our new 2016 annual reporting period, from October 2015 through September 2016.
